"I want my pavement!" - Civil society march in Tirana

September 22, 2017 | By Loreta Hysa

On 22 September in Tirana, besides many activities marking the closure of the European Mobility Week, a peaceful awareness-raising march was held to promote smart ways of mobility. This march in the capital aims to emphasize the need for sidewalks in some areas of the city where spaces are missing as well as the improvement of pedestrian road signage, without neglecting the positive assessment of areas where sidewalks and signage are provided.

The marchers had also prepared awareness-raising messages on banners as "Where to go?", "The pavement belongs to me", "Walking is beautiful", and other messages focusing on the release of public spaces for passersby and smart mobility.

The launchers of this march are the EDEN Environmental Center and the Civil Society Organizations of the ACHIEVE program, implemented by the Regional Environmental Center (REC) Albania, financially supported by the European Union Delegation in the country.
